Challenges
The main challenge was translating modular architecture and materiality into a visual identity that feels both modern and approachable.
Concrete as a key material and historical patterns required careful interpretation to achieve clarity and recognition. Creating a logo and visual system that reflected cleverness, individuality, and modernity while remaining functional across applications was complex.
Solutions
A modular logo system was developed, inspired by the apartments’ block-by-block design. The visual language was extended to a full brand system with color palette, typography, image style, and graphic elements.
Material and color research ensured a balance of concrete textures and modern aesthetics. Presentation materials communicate the identity clearly, emphasizing modularity, flexibility, and a premium look to make the brand distinctive and adaptable.
Results & Impact
The UNUS brand now reflects a strong, coherent identity that positions the apartments as clever, modern, and unique. The visual system translates the architectural principles into recognizable brand elements.
I created a foundation for market differentiation that communicates the apartments’ value and reinforces brand recognition. Although the pitch was not won, the project produced valuable insights and a replicable approach for future projects like NOEXIS.
Learnings & Reflection
Effective branding is about creating design that truly resonates with the target audience, not about fulfilling personal preferences or client tastes. Equally important is clearly communicating the reasoning behind design decisions to the client, showing why certain choices work for the brand and the audience.
Analyzing the company and asking precise questions helped define clear objectives. Translating complex concepts into a visual identity requires strategic thinking, flexibility, and experimentation. This insight strengthened the approach for future projects, emphasizing clarity, audience focus, and transparent client communication.
